"GREAT WHITES"

Great wines are found all over the world. Happily, the U.S has some of the best. Although wine is grown in every state, California, Oregon and Washington stand alone. Our tasting will highlight varietals that are not as familiar as the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. We will start with Vionger from California, This crisp white has a nose of white and yellow flowers and is the perfect way to transition to a Russian River Chardonnay. Woody with green apple and white peach with perfect acidity. We will then move to the reds with a Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir. This wine brings a bright strawberry and red fruit core, with layers of flavors. Next up is the Syrah. A French Rhone grape, that the Aussies call Shiraz. Soft fine grain tannis support layers of red fruit and currant deliver tons of flavor. We will conclude with the native grape of California, Zinfindel, a real Honest to God great red wine of substance and flavor. I think that after this tasting, you will put a few of these on your wine list, as essential.

Please join us for a fun filled educational night of wine, good food and fun. The educators at this event are from Shades of Bacchus and we enjoyed a fun evening with them in the past.
